In reflecting on my appreciation for the sacred bhakti teachings that have been preserved and passed down for millennia, as well as for my teacher(s) who embody and bring them to life, I wrote a little poem:
The purified soul is fully self-controlled,
His back is turned away from the darkness of illusion.
He invests his full attention in attaining the supreme goal,
No longer distracted by any material confusion.
Ecstatic spiritual love he beholds.
His purpose is resolute on the diffusion
Of that light to all conditioned souls.
His loving glance is enough to loosen
The relentless, noose-like hold
Of disempowering delusion.
Following in his footsteps, one becomes whole.
This is the ultimate conclusion.
When will that day come when I finally embrace it with full heart and soul?
And truly make a contribution,
Some service that is substantial and bold.
