“When faults in others misguide and delude you, have patience, introspect, and find faults in yourself. Know that others cannot harm you unless you harm yourself.” (Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati)
*
It’s not what happens to us that affects us. Rather, it is how we interpret what happens to us that affects us. Bhakti empowers us to shift our lens so we can see things from a higher perspective and understand that whatever may happen in our lives is happening for us and not to us.
*
A diamond’s beauty is crafted by intense heat and pressure. Similarly, our beauty of character is brought out by constantly using the things that happen to us as catalysts to dive within, understand our shortcomings, and work to overcome them.
